I've had a GoPro Hero3 for about a year now, its been easy to forget I have it and therefor never do anything with it. So I charged it and decided to use it a bunch this weekend. I stuck it to my skateboard, left it on a roof, dropped it in the lake and made my dog chase it. 4K settings are useless for now, the Go Pro app for IOS is awesome, there's no point in shooting 60fps if your not going to do some slow motion stuff and don't skateboard with a screw driver in your pocket.
The last few weeks have been busy with some long hours at work. During breaks we played TowerFall Ascension on Steam. Its a brawler for up to 4 players where you shoot arrows at each other. The games a lot of fun and the rounds are exciting and quick so you can play for a bit and get back to work. Also you can make gifs out of the last kill in a round, which is really cool.
While playing my co-workers and I talked about how fun it would be to make a 3D version of the game. So for fun I make this in a few hours.
Coming soon to the Playstation 4 and PC is a project I'm working on at Zombie called Daylight: a procedural first-person thriller made in Unreal 4. This is the latest trailer!
All of my first-person projects so far have been shooters. Daylight is a game without a weapon. It's been a fun and interesting challenge expressing fear through the fingers of our character. Looking forward to talking more about this as it gets closer to launch.
There are so many cool weapons and taunts in BLR; this is just a little compilation of some of my stuff.
Katana equip and power swing
Sumo Taunt for the Hardsuit
Deployable Turret Death
These are from the E3 trailer we put out not too long ago. We came up with several cool vignettes to show off our hero characters, but we needed a way to transition from one to another. After some tests, we decided on a gun swap animation to show how customizable the weapons are. So, I ended up pulling out a lot of gun assets, rigging them up, and animating one hero's gun switching to the next one.
